Dr. Janette Wilcox
Principal Dentist
Janette graduated from Guys Hospital, London in 1987. Since then she has worked in full time practice in the UK, in general practice and at a top security prison, successfully combining this with raising her two daughters, Josie and Polly.
She immigrated to New Zealand in January 2004 and became a partner at Nelson Dental in April 2007. She has a passion for all aspects of dentistry. Janette is a past President of the Nelson Dental Association. She is also credentialed in forensic dentistry and was awarded a citation medal for her services in forensic work after the Christchurch earthquake.
She has a passion for volunteer work and has twice been to Nepal to treat children over there. She has also been to India with Rotary on a Polio prevention programme. Janette adores all outdoor activities.

Dr. Pierre Gill
Principal Dentist
Pierre Gill graduated from university of Otago in 1999. He travelled to UK after undergraduate training where he intended to work and travel for a few years, but ended up staying 17. During his time there he gained experience in all aspects of general dentistry with particular interest in endodontics and implantology.
In 2012 he received an MSc with distinction in dental implantology from the university of Salford, Manchester. Pierre has recently moved back home to NZ with his young family.
He is a keen and experienced surfer having surfed most of his life.

Dr. Evonne Phua BDS (Otago)
Evonne graduated from the University of Otago, completing her degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery with First Class (Honours) in 2021, after moving to New Zealand from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
She won the prestigious Otago Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) Scholarship in 2020 and has published her work via the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute.
Evonne has completed multiple dental courses, focusing on digital dentistry, restorative dentistry, oral surgery and facial aesthetics. She incorporates these skills into her everyday practice,
As an active member of the New Zealand Society for Anaesthesia and Sedation in Dentistry, she routinely provides intravenous (IV) sedation to her anxious patients, ensuring that each procedure is as comfortable and efficient as possible.
After work, you may run into Evonne keeping fit and active at the gym. She has recently picked up ultimate frisbee as a hobby and plays socially at the local sports club, Whakatū Ultimate.

Dr. Amani Cahyono BDS (Otago)
Amani was born in Brisbane, raised in Jakarta, then moved to New Zealand in 2017. Amani graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago. She believes it is important to overcome her patients’ dental anxiety by establishing a good rapport with them.
In her leisure time, she keeps herself fit by doing pilates. She also enjoys a good escape room and exploring Kai around New Zealand and the world.

Dr. Ben Mar BDS (Otago)
Ben graduated from the University of Otago with First Class (Honours) in 2021 with the esteemed NZ Dental Research Foundation Scholarship and Otago Medical Research Foundation Scholarship, after moving to New Zealand from Singapore.
He focuses on a preventative approach to dental care and practices minimal intervention and believes in educating patients on how to take care of themselves by focusing on prevention as part of the cure.
He has completed numerous courses in endodontics, composite resin artistry, digital dentistry, implantology, oral surgery and facial cosmetics. He is an active member of RipeGlobal Dental Education and the New Zealand Dental Association.
Outside of work Ben enjoys golf, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
